Purple Rain Goa is one of the premier bands for weddings in Goa, performing a dynamic mix of pop, rock, Goan, and Bollywood originals as well as covers. From destination weddings and corporate events to gala dances and concerts, the band delivers music that leaves lasting memories.
Formed in 1985 by a group of passionate musicians, Purple Rain rose to fame after winning first place at the prestigious ‘Pop, Beat and Jazz’ competition by Kala Academy in 1986. This recognition propelled them into the spotlight, leading to performances across India and the Middle East. In 1988, they pioneered the Goan band presence in the Gulf with a New Year’s Dance in Dubai, later performing at grand events in Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Kolkata.
Through the years, Purple Rain has shared stages with legends like Usha Uthup, Indus Creed, Shiva, and Brahma. Alongside their covers, they are celebrated for original hits such as “Bala Bala Music”, Papa Day, Painted Faces, and Make It All Right. To mark their 20th anniversary, the band released the album Bala Bala Music, launched by Goa’s renowned musician Remo Fernandes.
With the talented lineup of Acacio Tavares, Larina Dsouza, Franky Fernandes, Marcelino Fernandes, Ashly Fernandes, and Emman Dias, Purple Rain continues to evolve, keeping music lovers engaged with fresh performances.

January 14, 2026 at 8:44 pmPurple Rain is one of the oldest Bands in Goa! They anticipate their audience and adapt their music perfectly. They played at my wedding too! I chose “Heaven” by Bryan Adams for the first dance, Franky sang a beautiful rendition, I will never forget that!
A smooth mix of English, Konkani and even Hindi, when they get onstage the atmosphere is sintilating! All the band members are highly talented and bring their own version to the songs they play
